"In my short time at Gael Force, I have found it to be incredibly busy but enjoyable.  I came from a similar role in electronic and electrical development, having gained a wealth of skills and knowledge about the various technologies in the Aquaculture industry.  Prior to this I had been working in various sectors in Scotland, including oil and gas, marine research, and aerospace industries, since graduating with an Honours degree (BEng, Hons) at Robert Gordons University in 2007.

My current project is focused on developing our latest HD camera technology - a project that has come with its challenges – and it is exciting to see this development progress into a final product.  In addition to that, my role has been varied and ranged from circuit design to testing various cameras, using our wireless systems, to writing code for microcontrollers to communicate with our onboard environmental sensors.

The circuit design side has certainly been very challenging considering the global shortage of electronic components over the past several years.  However, overcoming these challenges has been rewarding and I’m excited about the prospect of working on new and existing products within Gael Force Marine Technology."

"My job as Website Administrator affords me the opportunity to take on a wide range of tasks from creating content for our multiple websites or the blog to managing our social media platforms and email marketing. I love the fact that no one day is the same.

"I’ve come from a varied background predominantly revolving around power generation, including steam and gas turbines, generators, wave energy power plants, and encompassing a variety of roles, technical and commercial.  That wide range of experiences has served me well for my current role at Gael Force as Technical Development Manager.

It’s a diverse role; one moment I can be in deep technical discussion with team members, the next I might be creating development programs and cost estimates. I can be found working in the office, in our workshops or on a customer site – the job provides me with a broad variety of experiences and opportunities.

Working in an organisation the size of Gael Force really allows me to feel the responsibility of the decisions I take whilst also directly seeing the contribution I make to the company and, in turn, our customers. Every day brings a new challenge and a new opportunity, and I find that hugely rewarding."
