Gael Force supports the upcoming Kessock Ferry Swim
This summer, we are delighted to be lending our support to a local community event in Merkinch, Inverness. The Kessock Ferry Swim 2022 is being held on Saturday 25th June for the first time in over 50 years and is taking place along the road from our Inverness premises.
The classic swim route from South to North Kessock and back again is approximately 1200m long across a stretch of exposed tidal water, all with an experienced safety support crew on hand.
Proceeds from the event will go to the charity, Àban, to help them deliver community outdoor programmes throughout Inverness. They have also partnered with the "Friends of Merkinch Local Nature Reserve" charity which will receive 25% of all sponsorship funds to support their work with local people to improve their lives by enhancing their skills through volunteering and being part of the community.
The nature reserve is located close to the event centre and the swim starting point for any spectators that would like to visit it while in the area.
On the day, we will be at the event with our Gael Force gazebo (you can't miss us!), offering a selection of watersports related gear for watersports enthusiasts.
For spectators in South Kessock, the swimmers should be setting off from the old ticket office around 9.50 am while North Kessock spectators can expect to see the first swimmers reach the north ticket office around 10 am.
