Here’s how we do it:

• We observe, listen to, and understand the customer’s requirements: site location, weather parameters, sea state, local knowledge of the site conditions…the full works.
• Our dedicated design team of boffins uses in-house developed tools to evaluate and process the environmental conditions and then design the mooring system.
• Our cutting-edge analysis software application - AquaSim - is used for running advanced computer modelling of the system, along with simulating failures and/or enabling refinement of the design.
• AquaSim is an incredible piece of software – extensively validated and supported through tank tests, software benchmarks, and full-scale comparison, and we back it all up through analysis of our own unique data set collated from 14 months of detailed data acquisition from a real farm located in an exposed environment.

• We analyse the complex structure, surface, and subsurface moorings and the hundreds of individual component loads, safety factors, and performance requirements.
• We simulate the moorings in the Ultimate Limit State and Accident Limit State over 10- and 50-year wind, wave, and current storm conditions. The behaviour of floating structures in environmental conditions, including pen overtopping and net deflection, are also analysed.
• A specialised report is provided to the customer which will clearly detail our technical analysis and recommendations for equipment.
